GCHS music students qualify for state choir and orchestra

Garden City High School music students traveled to Salina for all-state auditions on January 8. Seven students and 2 alternates were selected for state choir, and one student qualified for state orchestra. They will perform at a concert during the Kansas Music Educators Association Conference in Wichita in late February.

Choir students who advanced to all-state include:

  • Joselyn Flores
  • Sarah Kuhlmeier
  • Joslyn Palacios
  • Ryan Pilosof (alternate
  • Darby Reimer (alternate)

They will learn six pieces and perform them at the KMEA inservice.

Orchestra student Makenna Metheny, senior bass player, qualified for all-state orchestra.

The GCHS choir director is Abigail Martinez.  The GCHS orchestra director is Summer Miller.
