GCHS Juniors encouraged to attend ACT Test Prep Class

Garden City High School will sponsor an ACT Test Prep Class for GCHS students on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. through 12:30 p.m.  The class will be held at Garden City High School, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd. There is no registration fee for the class, but there will be a registration fee of $10 after January 14, 2022.

The GCHS counselors are encouraging juniors to take the ACT Test Prep Class.  The class will help them get prepared for the free ACT test that will be given to juniors on March 1, 2022.

Go to http://actprep.info/gchs to register for the class.  Students will need to complete the registration.  A receipt of successful registration will be emailed immediately.  Students/parents will also receive a reminder email 48-72 hours before the class date with all class details.

This workshop includes practical and relevant information on how a student can increase their ACT score.   It shows how to control the test and not let it control you.  The workshop covers what will be on the test and how to master test-taking techniques.  This class is not a practice test for the ACT.  Students will need to bring a pencil, paper and math calculator to the workshop.

Students will learn general ideas about the ACT as a whole and the individual tests that include: English, math, reading and science.  Students will learn what ACT test-writers are looking for in English and how to approach different types of questions. Math, students will learn about necessary problem-solving skills and math skills.  Reading, students will learn the best method for doing well on ACT reading. Science, students will learn common question types and what’s really required to do well on the test.
