GCCC DE&I Committee Sees Success with Vision Screening for Students

The GCCC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I)
Committee hosted a free Vision Spot Check on Tuesday, August 24th for GCCC students in
coordination with Russell Child Development Center and Garden City Noon Lions.
After reviewing the vision screening results, 20 students received vouchers to participating local
optometrists for professional eye screenings and eyewear.
The DE&I Committee will host monthly awareness and educational events for students and
employees throughout the academic year. Students are encouraged to continually check the
GCCC App for upcoming event information.
The GCCC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee was created to create a safe, welcome,
and engaged campus climate that fosters inclusivity. One of the main goals of the committee is
to tear down roadblocks for students in order to help students succeed.
