New District Administrators For Garden City Public Schools

Garden City Public Schools has a number of new administrators in leader positions in the district for the 2021-22 school year.  The administrators started in their new positions on July 1, 2021. 

Colleen Drees has been appointed to be the Financial Officer.  She is coming to the district from the Finney County Health Department where she was the director. 

Jason Johnson has been appointed to be the Director of Curriculum and Assessment.  He is coming to the district from Holcomb where he served as the High School Principal. 

Monica Diaz has been appointed to be the Title Programs and Services Coordinator.  She was previously the Literacy and English Language Learners Coordinator.

Brittany Schields has been appointed to be the Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator.  She was previously the elementary Teacher on Special Assignment at Florence Wilson and Victor Ornelas Elementary Schools. 

The first day of school for the 2021-22 school year will be Monday, August 9th, with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, seventh grade, ninth and tenth grades and all students new to Garden City Public Schools.  The first full day of school for the district will be Tuesday, August 10, 2021.  All classes will be in session for the start of the 2021-22 school year.
