Principal Changes at Garden City Public Schools for 2021-22

Garden City Public Schools has appointed a number of experienced staff members to fill key principal and associate principal positions in the district for the 2021-22 school year.

Dr. Virginia “Ginny” Duncan will be the associate principal in the Arts and Communications at Garden City High School.  She was the instructional coach and AVID Site Coordinator at the high school.

Dr. Roger Syng will be the associate principal in the Freshman Academy at Garden City High School.  He was the associate principal in the Arts and Communications at Garden City High School. 

Lucas Sullivan will be the principal at the Garden City Alternate Education Center.  Sullivan is moving from the associate principal position at Horace J. Good Middle School.

Bradley Hill will be the new associate principal at Kenneth Henderson Middle School.  He is moving from a physical education teaching position at Horace Good Middle School.

Matthew Horney will be the full-time principal at Jennie Barker Elementary School.  He was the principal at Jennie Barker Elementary School and the associate principal at Abe Hubert Elementary School.

Suzette Goldsby-Lewis will be the interim principal at Plymell Elementary School.  She will also continue her duties as the Professional Development Coordinator in the school district and will be filling in as principal as the district looks for a full-time principal at Plymell Elementary School.

Kathleen Moorman will be principal and lead teacher at the Garden City Virtual Academy.  She is transitioning from being just the lead instructor at the academy to also being the principal. 

Adriana Caro will be the associate principal at Horace Good Middle School.  She was the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) at the school. 

Andrew Lee will be the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) at Horace Good Middle School.  He is moving from an English teaching position at Garden City High School.

Ben Luna will be the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center.  He was an interventionist at the school. 

April Miller will be the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) at Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center. She is moving from a Title 1 interventionist position at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center. 

Whitney Linenberger will be the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) at Abe Hubert and Alta Brown Elementary Schools.  She is previously from the Dighton school district where she was a science teacher.

Melanie Garrison will be an assistant principal at Garfield Early Childhood Center.  She will also continue to be a Special Education TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) for Early Childhood. 

The first day of school for the 2021-22 school year will be Monday, August 9th, with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, seventh grade, ninth and tenth grades and all students new to Garden City Public Schools.  The first full day of school for the district will be Tuesday, August 10, 2021.  All classes will be in session for the start of the 2021-22 school year.
