The fall semester for Garden City Public Schools will end on January 21, 2021, because the district started the school year later than what was planned. The late start helped get the district prepared for the start of the school year with the district operational plan for COVID-19. The spring semester will start on January 25, 2021.
At the beginning of the school year parents had the option for their student to choose On-Site Learning in which students learn in a traditional classroom setting. The other option was Remote Learning where learning occurs at home with remote instruction and support provided by teachers and staff.
Parents can choose to make changes from Remote to On-Site or On-Site to Remote Learning for the second semester of the school year. Parents must notify the school that their child attends prior to January 15th regarding any changes in their educational instruction for the second semester. Parents will have a two week window to make changes on the educational option that their child will be in for the semester.
