Garden City Public Schools will be celebrating American Education Week, November 16-20. American Education Week helps to raise public awareness of the importance of education. During this week the district celebrates great schools and the partnerships between teachers, support staff, students, parents, and the community.

Garden City Public Schools will be celebrating with various activities throughout the week, recognizing the exemplary education provided by the district.
American Education Week Schedule:
Monday, November 16th, Garden City Public Schools Foundation Day. The Garden City Public Schools Foundation Grant Squad will award mini-grants to teachers in the district.
Tuesday, November 17th, Thank an Educator Day. This is where the community can thank an educator through social media this year due to COVID protocols.
Wednesday, November 18th, Alma Mater Day. This is where staff at the schools will wear a shirt celebrating their alma mater of post-secondary education and promote higher education.
Thursday, November 19th, Crystal Apple Awards ceremony will be virtually in the evening due to COVID. Outstanding Teachers from Finney County will be officially recognized. This event is sponsored by the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce.
Friday, November 20th, School Spirit Day. The staff in the district will wear a school shirt celebrating their school. This will help to show support for the great things that are happening in their school in educating students every day.
