
Monday, July 27, will be the start of the last week for the USD 457 Summer Books on the Bus (B.O.B.) and the Summer Grab and Go meals programs for the summer. The last day of the programs will be Thursday, July 30, 2020.
The sites that the Bookmobile will visit include:
Monday at 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. at Plymell Trailers, 800 Mimosa Rd, 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. at Victor Ornelas Elementary School, 11:50 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Florence Wilson Elementary School, and 12:45 – 1:15 p.m. at Ayala Park, 216 N. Taylor Avenue.
Tuesday at 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. at Boots Rd (WW1), 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. at Edith Scheuerman Elementary School, 11:50 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Gertrude Walker Elementary School, and 12:45 – 1:15 p.m. at the Zoo.
Wednesday at 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. at Mansfield Trailers, 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Towns Riverview South, and 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. at Ayala Park, 216 N. Taylor Avenue.
Thursday at 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. at Harold Long Park, 1001 E. Spruce, 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. at Jennie Wilson Elementary School, 11:50 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Abe Hubert Elementary School, and 12:45 – 1:15 p.m. at the Zoo.
The Summer Food Service Grab and Go lunch program. The program will take place at a number of schools in the district Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The schools include: Abe Hubert Elementary School, Buffalo Jones Elementary School, Edith Scheuerman Elementary School, Florence Wilson Elementary School, Jennie Wilson Elementary School, Victor Ornelas Elementary School and Garden City High School.

There will also be a number of locations where the district will have school buses in the community for families go to get meals. The times and locations include:
10:15 – 11:30 at Acosta Trailer Park and Wagon Wheel.
10:15 – 10:45 a.m. at Plymell Trailers (Mimosa Rd), H&H Trailers, and Mansfield Rd. Trailers.
11:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Burnside Frontage, Farmland Road, and Towns Riverview.
The Books on the Bus is a traveling bus that brings books to various locations in Garden City during the summer. The goal of B.O.B. is to increase reading skills by getting books into the hands of children.
The Summer Food Service program provides free meals to youth 18 and under at a number of locations in Garden City. The Garden City Public Schools website has all the times and locations of the programs at www.gckschools.com.
