While there is no cure for diabetes, there are ways to treat, control and delay the onset of the disease.
Managing diabetes will be the topic of this month’s Lunch and Learn program, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 17, at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St.
Terri Worf, BC-CDE, BC-ADM, MSN, APRN at Siena Medical Clinic and a certified diabetes educator, will talk about how lifestyle and dietary changes, among other steps, can go a long way to helping manage the deadly disease.
St. Catherine Hospital, in partnership with the senior center, offers Lunch and Learn programs the third Thursday of each month. The luncheons cover important topics concerning senior health care. Pre-registration is required for a complimentary meal. To register, which must be done at least 48 hours in advance, call 620-272-3620.
