The Garden City Community College Music Department invites you to attend GCCC Choir’s first concert of the season. The concert will take place on Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
Director Sean Boller is excited for the choir’s first performance and the new tradition of collaboration that he is bringing to GCCC. Each fall, the GCCC Choir concert will feature an area high school. The high schools will perform their own music and perform a song with the GCCC Concert Choir. This year, Garden City High School is bringing Les Chantes, Acapella, and Buffalo Men to participate.
“I am excited to have high school students not only get a chance to perform but also give them a chance to perform with the college choir. The song we will be performing as a group is the Kansas Music Educators Association audition song “Joy” by Hans Bridger Heruth,” said Boller.
The Oct. 10 concert will not only feature GCHS, but it will also feature performances from both the GCCC Concert Choir and GCCC College Singers. Song selections will include a variety of languages including Swahili, Latin, Japanese, and English.
You don’t want to miss the chance to see GCCC and GCHS students perform and put on a great show.
