GARDEN CITY — The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, in partnership with Garden City Community College and the High Plains Archery Club, will offer a free Bowhunter Education class on Saturday, Sept. 14.
The course is open for both adults and children interested in taking up archery for hunting. Topics covered in the course include: hunter ethics, tree stand safety, shot placement and shot selection, and blood trailing.
The class is free and will begin in the Academic Building at Garden City Community College at 8:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., the class will then move to the High Plains Archery Club (east of Garden City on Mansfield Rd). A free BBQ lunch will be provided for students by the Archery Club.
