On Wednesday, Nov. 14, Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center (MAMTC) will present a free seminar for manufacturers about energy efficiency and the REAP (Rural Energy for America Program) and how it can apply to your business.
The meeting starts at 11 a.m. at the 2nd floor meeting room at the Garden City Administrative Center, 301 N. Eighth St., and should last about an hour.
Gary Hogsett, an award winning energy expert and past president of the International Association of Energy Engineers, will lead the seminar. Hogsett will provide examples of the top energy challenges he has seen in Kansas manufacturing plants and simple methods to reduce energy waste.
In addition, Hogsett will talk about the REAP program. REAP provides grants to eligible small rural businesses for up to 25 percent of the cost of making energy efficiency improvements to their facilities, and also provides loan guarantees.
Those planning to attend should RSVP by emailing or calling Nicole Hahn at (620) 271-0388 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
