The KARSP (Kansas Association of Retired School Personnel) Foundation recently awarded Garden City High School counselors Kristina Younkman and Emily Hamlin grants to enhance educational opportunities for students.
Younkman received a $500 grant for the KISS program (Kids Initiating Student Safety) at Garden City High School. Hamlin received a $500 grant for an Ultimate Story Time for Kids with special needs.
The KARSP received 227 applications and eight grants were awarded $500 to each project. Through the awarding of grants, the purpose of the KARSP Foundation is to improve and enrich opportunities for students in Kansas.
KARSP has approximately 3,700 members across the state of Kansas. The association brings retired school employees together through shared interests. The members continue to work in their communities to support public education as a vital force working for a bright future for the state.
