Lee Richardson Zoo and the Finney County Senior Center, are partnering together to promote more educational and recreational activities for the adult citizens of Garden City and surrounding areas.
Designed for adults 55 and older, the programs will be available the first Wednesday of every month at 10a.m in the Finnup Center for Conservation Education. The first program is scheduled for April 5th, 2017.
The programs will offer a look into a variety of zoo related topics with a guided tour on grounds to immediately follow. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet some of the zoo’s animal ambassadors. Each session will last approximately one hour.
No registration is necessary, and there is no fee to attend. The Senior Programs will run throughout the year, and walking tour portions will be available as weather permits.
“History of the Zoo” will be the topic for the first meeting. Zoo education staff will present historical information and lead a tour that will highlight Lee Richardson Zoo’s historic past and evolving future.
All ages are always welcome at the zoo, but adults 55 and older looking for a social opportunity that offers educational insights as well as a walk in the park are encouraged to join us for our upcoming Senior Programs.
