Keith Downer will be the opening act for this year’s Evening at the Museum. His program will include cowboy poetry from his new book and additional collections of his work. His verses are drawn from his own life experineces and additional sources. He went to work in a sale barn at the age of 15, devoted 25 years to a career at Brookover Feedyard, and then continued working as a cattle buyer, trader and feeder, so he can conjure up plenty of recollections.
He has written a book “Cowboy Memories” and his program will conclude with a book signing and copies will be available for sale. In addition, the books are available at the museum gift shop, which is open 1-5 PM Sunday through Saturday.
